New guitarist Mike Smith (Ex-Snot) was welcomed into the bands ranks, and in 2003, Limp Bizkit returned with Results May Vary. But quick as Limp Bizkit's meteoric rise to the top was, so was the downhill slopes as things quickly unravelled when in October 2001, guitarist Wes Borland decided to resign from the band, leaving Limp Bizkit in search of a new guitarist. Since the release of their 1997 debut (Three Dollar Bill, Y'All), Limp Bizkit continued to gain popularity (Not to mention notoriety for lead vocalist Fred Durst as he defines the term 'Walking publicity machine') with each consecutive release (1999's Significant Other, 2000's Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water and 2001's New Old Songs).
The saying 'What goes up, must come down' certainly couldn't be further from the truth in regards to the ongoing dramas that have unfolded for nu-metal act Limp Bizkit over the last couple of years.
